We are a united group of individuals and organizations
committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of refugees in Goma,Kivu, DRC.

Our team is made up of members from VGK Network, Ottawa Youth, Emmanuel United Church and the Congolese Youth Community of Ottawa-Gatineau (UJC),
working hand-in-hand with compassionate volunteers and supporters.

Our shared mission is to provide aid and hope to over
300,000 refugees at camp bulengo by organizing impactful fundraising initiatives.

This partnership was formed to ensure transparency, accountability, and a collective effort toward a common goal: delivering essential supplies like food, water, and other necessities to those in dire need.

With our diverse talents and unwavering dedication, we aim to inspire trust and foster peace of mind among all contributors to this humanitarian cause.

Together, we believe we can bring light and hope to Goma.

Our Vision

Our goal is to provide essential support to refugees in the Goma region of Kivu, DRC.

To achieve this, we are committed to a transparent and responsible process for managing the funds we raise.

How Funds Will Be Managed

Raising Funds:
All donations will be processed securely through DonorBox. The funds will remain in DonorBox until the conclusion of our campaign on April 11th.

Transferring Funds:

After the campaign ends, the funds will be transferred to VGK Fashion. From there, we will finalize agreements with a recognized charity to ensure the proper allocation o these funds.

Funds from Other Campaigns:

Any additional funds raised through our other campaigns will also be securely held in the VGK Fashion banking account  until an agreement is reached with the selected charity.

Partnering with Charities:

We are currently in discussions with several reputable organizations, including Agapao Vision DRC, and remain open to partnering with other charities that share our commitment to aiding refugees. Our priority is to collaborate with an organization that can deliver the greatest impact.

Supporting Refugees Directly:

Once a partnership agreement is in place, all funds raised will be directed to the selected charity. Depending on the amount raised, we aim to send volunteers to assist with distributing food, essential supplies, and other agreed-upon resources directly to the refugee camp.

We believe in full transparency and accountability. By working closely with established partners, we ensure that your generous contributions provide real, tangible help to those who need it most.

Although we are organizing this fundraiser and gratefully accepting donations, we want to be transparent about an important point: we are unable to provide tax receipts because we are not a registered charity. Unfortunately, we were unable to find a Canada-registered charity actively operating in Goma, apart from larger organizations like the UN.

We have raised this concern with our church and community, and they are exploring ways to assist in the future. We understand that the lack of tax receipts may be a deciding factor for some donors, which is why we are collecting email addresses. This allows us to keep you informed if we find a solution and are able to issue tax receipts in the future.

Despite this limitation, we chose to move forward because the crisis in Goma is urgent, and lives are at stake. We couldn’t let this obstacle prevent us from doing what we can to help. Your support, even without a tax receipt, has a direct impact and means the world to the people in need.

Thank you for supporting
our vision of bringing hope and relief to the people of Goma.
